Below is a schedule episodic shutdowns are performed during the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday. Closures scheduled during these times aim to lessen the impact on the campus community. Thanksgiving break Nov. 25: 7am- 11am, Student Services Building Student health Lot 20 and Lift station. 11am-3:30pm, Corp Yard, Central Plant, Waste Management, Annex 1 &2, Children's Campus. An additional notification will be sent out about December 21, 2011 to remind the community of the upcoming Christmas closure shutdowns. Though not anticipated, these schedules are subject to change. The shutdowns include a variety of tests, which include exercising panel breakers, testing emergency lights and exit signs, as well as briefly testing the audible fire alarms in those buildings. All procedures attempt to assure the reliability of our life safety equipment.

Replace Exterior Doors at Various Campus Buildings

Project Description: This project will replace several exterior doors in various campus buildings. If the door has an automatic door operator, the door will receive a new door operator. Duration of work for each door is approximately 1week, 2 weeks if there is a door operator. Signage will be posted. Work begins later this week. The first two buildings affected are Burk Hall and Science. Location: Burk Hall main south entrance - Door operator disconnected on Thursday 10/06/11; work to start on Friday 10/07/11. Replacement of doors & automatic door operator Alternate Access: use adjacent doors. Location: Science near elevator Door operator disconnected on Friday 10/07/11; work to start on Saturday 10/08/11. Replacement of doors, automatic door operator & card key Alternate Access: use path between Science and Hensill and entrance with door operator. Future updates will announce upcoming affected building entrances.

The Creative Arts Building's exterior elevator at Holloway nearest to McKenna Theater of the be taken out of service on Tuesday, August 9, through September 16, 2011. This elevator provides access to Classroom CA 255 and the Academic Administrative Offices of the College of Creative Arts.

If you are unable to navigate the stairway to and from CA 255 please contact your Instructor for an alternative meeting room. If you need to meet with Creative Arts Administrative personnel and/or the Dean please phone 415-405-4281 to arrange an alternative meeting place. Access to the Sky-walk leading from Parking Structure 20, rooftop parking level 19 to the newly graded walk and roadway to Five Corners will remain closed until August 15.

Temporary accessible parking has been designated behind the Gymnasium. Intersection at Five Corners temporarily closed

As part of the parking garage pathway re-grading project, the roadway intersection between the Student Services building and the Student Health Center will be temporarily closed. Pedestrian and motor traffic be advised.
Alternate Access:
Pedestrians going to and from the core of campus,the garage and, Library Annex buildings should use the pathway between the Village housing and the Student Services building. Traffic entering and exiting Lot 6 will use the service road east and north of Cox Stadium connecting to North State Drive. The service road will be one-way in both directions, with flaggers stationed at both ends to allow traffic to move alternately in each direction. City construction crews will be improving accessible curb to sidewalk access at the intersection of Holloway and Arrellano. Impacted will be two Blue Zone parking spaces located at the North side of Holloway. An alternate ramps on the same path of travel will be provided. Signs will be posted to direct the pedestrians.

Update: Library Entry Plaza from 19th Ave and Quad pathway

Starting July 11, construction will begin on the new Library entry plaza and an accessible pathway to 19th Avenue. Pedestrian traffic will be re-routed to the Quad via the pathway/courtyard between the Business and HSS buildings. Fencing and detour signs will be in place. All adjoining buildings will remain open; however particular entry points may be affected. The main pathway from 19th Avenue and Holloway Avenue going west past HSS between BUS and the Library project site fence has been partially blocked by a construction fence. This fencing is required for renovation of the plaza and main campus pathway in this area. Please follow posted directional signage for safe passage on to the Quad.

As of Monday, May 23, 2011 accessible parking on the 5th level of Lot #20 will not be available due to reconstruction of the pedestrian bridge connecting the parking garage to the campus. These parking spaces will be returned to use by mid-July, 2011 when a new wider bridge and accessible path to campus will be in place

The west entrance, exit of the Humanities Building, facing the School of the Art,) will be closed on Thursday, April 21, 2011 to permit replacement of the approaching asphalt walkway.
