    The Ethnic Studies and Psychology elevator remains out of service as part of continued repairs. Unfortunately, there is not an estimated date of completion. An additional notice will be provided once this elevator is back in service.

    Alternate Access:
    Please note this is the only elevator that provides access to floors 2-5. While we don’t anticipate staff to be occupying this building due to current COVID mitigation efforts, we are alerting you in the event there are any planned visits for this building. Please consult with your supervisor to make alternate arrangements if you were planning to access the upper floors of this building.

    12:20pm update: The power outage scheduled for 8/14 has been cancelled.

    An electrical outage has been scheduled for Friday, August 14, 2020 from 7:00am to 11:00am for the Creative Arts Building.

    8/10 EP Crane Work & Building Closure

    Please be advised there will be a crane staged on the south-side of the Ethnic Studies and Psychology main building entrance. The crane work on this building is schedule from 5am-9am on Monday, August 10th during which building occupancy will not be allowed as a safety measure.

    While we don’t anticipate staff to be occupying this building due to current COVID mitigation efforts, we are alerting you in the event there are any planned visits for this building. Please consult with your supervisor to make alternate arrangements.

    During the crane work time, you can avoid the general work area by using the back access road behind the EP and GYM buildings.

    Admin sliding doors on Holloway Out of Service 8/5

    Sidewalk detours at Tapia Drive due to construction

    Due to construction lasting from 6/29 through 9/07, pedestrian access to enter campus via the north/south segment of Tapia Drive will be closed.

    Pedestrian access on the north/south segment of Tapia Drive will end after the Creative Arts loading dock.

    Alternate Access:
    To enter campus from Font Blvd., a detour route directs pedestrians to go east on Tapia (passing the soccer field and Humanities building). This route is ADA accessible.


    Holloway construction- Impact to sidewalk and underground parking

    Details:
    Scheduled construction occurring on Holloway will temporarily impact a portion of the pedestrian walkway in front of the Administration Building and the adjacent underground parking lot (Lot 1). This project is expected to last about 3 weeks, beginning on Monday, June 15th.

    Alternate Access:
    An alternate walkway will be available so pedestrian access is not obstructed, just rerouted.

    EP elevator out of service 5/26-8/14

    The Ethnic Studies and Psychology elevator will be out of service starting Tuesday, May 26, 2020 - Friday, August 14, 2020, for a scheduled modernization project. The contracted work to be performed is scheduled (Monday - Friday 6am - 6pm).

    Alternate Access:
    This is the only elevator that gives access to Floors 2 through 5. Please work with your supervisor or meeting hosts if you have business on the upper floors. Additionally, you can work with our office to obtain reasonable accommodations by emailing dprc@sfsu.edu.

    Village A, B, C, & SSB Service Interruptions

    Details:
    There will be brief electrical and elevator service interruptions in Village A, B, C & SSB on Thursday, April 9th between the hours of 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM. These buildings will experience very short interruptions to electrical power and elevator service during this time.

    Alternate Access:
    In accordance with the University's COVID-19 response, most personnel should not be required to be on campus. As such, if you do find yourself in one of these building, please make alternate plans with your supervisor if you have business on the upper floors, or seek assistance from your Residential Staff.
    To reiterate, the service interruptions are expected to very short.

    Lot 2, adjacent to the Administration Building will be closed from Wednesday 1/15- Thursday 1/16 until 5pm for grounds work.

    Alternate Access:
    Additional ADA parking spaces are available in Lot 6 behind the GYM (accessible via State Drive) or at the top of the parking garage in Lot 19.

    DPRC Carts are also available for on campus transportation between 8:30am-4:30pm by calling 415-338-2472.

    2:11pm Update: The hall has been cleaned up and is no longer obstructed.. You can access DPRC offices via the main hallway in Student Services now. |

    The SSB hallway leading to DPRC offices is currently blocked off due to flooding, also blocking access to SSB 105, the DPRC Testing Office.

    Alternate Access:
    You can enter DPRC via the Student Services Building courtyard across from US Bank in the Village. The testing room is also still available via entry through SSB 110. Please speak with SSB 110 front desk staff about any Testing questions you may have.

    11:30am Update: Though the Gym still remains closed, Lot 6 parking has reopened.

    Due to the Gym closure, Lot 6 parking is currently closed, including ADA parking spaces between Thorton Hall and the Gym.

    There are additional spaces reserved in Lot 19 on the roof of the parking garage. These will be designated for Accessible parking for Lot 6 permit holders.

    HUM ADA Door Facing Soccer Field Out of Service

    The Fine Art elevator EL 101, which is the only one that goes from the Coppola Lobby all the way to the 5th floor, is out of service until further notice.

    ADA Curb Ramp Construction on Font Blvd.

    Details:
    The City of San Francisco will be doing ADA curb ramp installations/repairs along Font Blvd. between Lake Merced Blvd. and Tapia Dr.

    The ramps at the intersection of Font by Mary Ward Hall going to Mashouf and the Tapia/Font intersections will be impacted.

    Work will occur Monday-Friday from 8AM-5pm beginning the week of September 30th, and lasting about 3-4 weeks.

    Alternate Access:
    Crews will designate a safe and clearly marked pedestrian path of travel around construction areas. Please allow extra time for possible delays.

    Cardenas Ave. Closure - September 20 through 22

    Cardenas Ave. between Holloway Ave. and Serrano Dr. will be closed to vehicle traffic on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, September 20, 21, and 22 due to tower crane demobilization activities.

    Vehicles and pedestrians will be rerouted by flaggers and signage.

    UPDATE- Fine Arts elevator EL 101 back in service

    9/13- The elevator has been repaired and is back in service.

    9/6- The elevator is still out of service. The necessary part to fix the elevator is on its way so it won't be repaired until Tuesday at the earliest. Please work with your instructor if you have class in Coppola Theater, or on the 3rd, 4th, or 5th floors.

    8/20: SF State phone systems are operational again.

    SF State is currently experiencing an unplanned outage of the phone system affecting outside calls to and from campus. An update will be provided when phones are back up.

    There will be a planned electrical outage on Friday, 8/16 from 6pm-12am. Campus buildings affected include: Administration, AS Early Childhood Education Center, Burk Hall, Business, Creative Arts, Children’s Campus, Cesar Chavez, Central Plant/Waste Management, Corp Yard, Fine Arts, GYM, Hensill Hall, HSS, Humanities, Library, Lot 20, Mashouf Wellness Center, Science, Student Health Center, Thornton Hall, Towers (TJS &TCS), Village A, B, & C, and Student Services Building.


    Alternate Access:
    Please keep in mind this will impact automatic doors and elevators. If you have business in these buildings, please make arrangements with the department of whom you are meeting. In addition, UPD can be reached at 415-338-7200 if you require additional assistance.
